One of God's Biggest Mistakes - Disregarding Religious Requirements
I think the first thing I'm going to do in this article is try to
figure out exactly what God requires and then point out some of the
problems it has created for religious followers.
I'm going to use the Old Testament, but I'm not going to mention
everything, just a few things to get you thinking. If you're
interested in learning more, feel free to read more of the chapter
below in your Bible.
Leviticus Chapter 20
9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely
be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood
shall be upon him.
Verse nine suggests that any child who curses their mother or father
will need to die.
10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife,
even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the
adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
Verse 10 suggests that anyone who commits adultery will need to die.
11 And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his
father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their
blood shall be upon them.
Verse 11 suggests that any man who lies down with their fathers wife
shall also be put to death.
Obviously most Christians, Jews and Muslims don't follow these
rules, but is there a reason why.
I think I can answer this question rationally, but whether or not it
will make sense to everyone could be questioned. I believe the
reason why religious followers all over the world don't follow these
rules, even though they're written in the Bible and some believe the
Bible to be without error, it's because they could be punished
themselves for following them.
Let's take the United States of America for example, anyone who
kills or murders another person, for committing adultery, uncovering
their father's wife's nakedness or cursing one of their parents
could be facing years in prison if convicted of these crimes against
humanity.
With that said how could anyone, including religious followers make
claims that the Bible is without error or that their God doesn't
make mistakes?
The Book of Leviticus clearly states that these individuals, no
matter how faithful, devoted or morally righteous will need to be
put to death without questioning God's un-validated authority.
Would you kill your children if they cursed you or murder someone
for committing adultery?
Some of us would, but with the fear of going to prison for the rest
of your life, those who might, probably wouldn't. Now think about
this for a moment and I mean really think hard, because things like
these really make me question the existence of an all-powerful
entity.
How could anyone consider themselves to be a faithful follower if
they don't follow the rules provided to them by their sacred books?
Here's the mistake that sticks out to me like a sore thumb.
Religious followers believe that the words written inside of their
sacred books are infallible and do not contradict themselves, but
this often isn't the case.
Religious leaders can make up as many excuses as they want to or
provide you with reasons why they don't follow these rules, but they
can't have it both ways.
The moment a religious follower makes a conscious choice, not the
murder someone for committing these so-called sins, then they would
be admitting that there are mistakes and that their God isn’t
perfect.
True believers in anything will follow the rules, no matter how
ridiculous. If you don't believe me, take a look at some of the
things Germans did during World War II.
